Arsenal can begin to welcome new faces to the Emirates Stadium when the summer transfer window opens on Monday, June 15. The Gunners are interested in signing Morgan Rogers, whose contract at Villa Park doesn't expire until June 2031. Emmanuel Petit reckons that Arsenal have been left no choice but to sign Morgan Rogers. The Aston Villa star has been one of several big names to be recently linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options. It's understood that Arteta is keen to welcome a midfielder and a full-back to the Emirates Stadium. Meanwhile, Andrea Berta looks set to streamline the squad, with player sales viewed as a priority. In an interview with BetVictor, Petit gave Arsenal the green light to sign Rogers, describing him as a 'powerful player' who will improve Arteta's side. The former Premier League midfielder said: 'I can see Morgan Rogers at Arsenal. That brings different tactical options for Mikel Arteta, and it will bring more competition into the dressing room as well. This is very important. If you want your players to improve, they need to live under pressure. But there are still positions missing. We need powerful players. Morgan Rogers is one of them. He's got pace, he's very powerful physically, and he's good technically, so he will bring qualities that can be missing sometimes up front for Arsenal.' Although Rogers featured 17 times on the left for Aston Villa last season, Petit suggested the Gunners sign an out-and-out winger. Bradley Barcola, who's priced at £60m by Transfermarkt, has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, but the 55-year-old isn't getting his hopes up. Petit said: 'We need to add more players, especially on the left-hand side. Bradley Barcola would turn down Arsenal. He has won two Champions League and the French league three times. He's playing for one of the best teams in the world. He's enjoying his life and his football. I know he's not in every big game or in the first eleven, but he plays all the time, he comes in all the time. I have no idea how many games he has played so far with Paris Saint-Germain, but I think he plays a lot. So we're not talking about a player that sits on the bench every single game, seeing his teammates playing and enjoying winning. That's not the case. It's not like Goncalo Ramos, the striker for Paris Saint-Germain. If I am Ramos, yes, I would think about leaving. I think it's time for him to leave the club because, although he wants trophies with PSG, he doesn't play often. The question is for Ramos, not for Barcola. Honestly, if I am Barcola and I see big clubs knocking on my door, I will think, Why should I leave? I'm so happy here. I earn a lot of money, and I love the club. Have you seen the celebrations of the players after winning against Arsenal? It's rare for players to say they love the club that much in front of the camera. For me, that means a lot. When you love a club that much, why should you leave? He's playing games, even big games. He comes into the games at half-time
