Arsenal youngster Jaden Dixon has picked up an injury just days after making his debut for the Gunners’ first team.
The 18-year-old suffered the setback in Friday’s u21 defeat to Leicester City.
What happened?
Dixon had to be supported by Arsenal medics as he limped off the pitch with an injury, to be replaced by substitute Seb Ferdinand. The nature and extent of Dixon’s injury are not yet known.
Why it matters for Arsenal
The injury is a blow to Arsenal, who had been impressed by Dixon’s performances in his first four appearances at right-back. Dixon had been rewarded with a senior debut in the FA Cup, and had been praised by Mikel Arteta.
What comes next?
The u21s have been prone to crumbling this season, and that was seemingly what happened in the second half as Leicester went on to win 5-1. The only positive from the performance had been another goal for winter Arsenal signing Evan Mooney. | Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | Score | 5-1 | | Opponent | Leicester City | | Player | Jaden Dixon
