Al Hilal’s Double-Raid on the Premier League
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal is reportedly working on a double raid from the Premier League, targeting Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins. The Saudi side is said to be offering Martinelli a substantial contract and a fee that comes close to the Premier League champions’ valuation of £60 million. Martinelli has been reluctant to leave Arsenal for anything other than a top competitive league, but the Saudis are reportedly willing to meet his expectations.
Martinelli’s Transfer Saga
Arsenal previously received a £38 million offer from Galatasaray for Martinelli, but the Brazilian winger was not keen on moving to Turkey. Al Hilal’s approach is reportedly more attractive, with a higher fee and a lucrative contract on offer. The club’s interest has put the winger on the radar of several other Premier League clubs, but no other offers have been reported.
Watkins’ Fourth Offer
Ollie Watkins was left out of Villa’s squad to face Brighton on Sunday as talks are ongoing. Al Hilal had a £45 million offer for Watkins knocked back on Friday, but it was their fourth offer for the striker this summer. The club’s persistence suggests it is still keen on securing the Villa forward.
Other Premier League Targets
Al Hilal has also been looking at other Premier League options. Chelsea’s Pedro Neto is reportedly being sought after, with the club reportedly wanting £100 million for the winger. Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye is open to leaving the club for another Premier League side that competes in the Champions League, and the Saudi club has reportedly expressed interest in him as well.
