Arsenal’s Target: Julian Alvarez
Arsenal are eyeing 26-year-old Argentine forward Julian Alvarez, who has said he is open to a move to the Gunners despite a prior preference for Barcelona. Alvarez, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid, has expressed that his relationship with the Spanish club is becoming “unsavoury” and that he is looking for a new challenge. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been in frequent contact with the player this summer, keeping the option of a transfer alive.
Alvarez’s Preference and Arsenal’s Offer
Alvarez has previously favoured a switch to Barcelona, but the Gunners have presented a “welcome emergency solution” for the Argentine. The player remains open to a move to Arsenal, with Arteta and Berta reportedly keeping the lines of communication open. While Alvarez’s preference is still Barcelona, the Gunners appear ready to step in should the opportunity arise.
