Noni Madueke is attracting interest from Champions League clubs Atletico Madrid and Juventus after a season of limited action at Arsenal. The winger has managed only 27 minutes in the Premier League so far, a situation that has impacted his international prospects.
Madueke joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer for £48.5 million. Since then he has made 48 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. His contribution this term has been minimal, with just one start in the Carabao Cup and five substitute cameos in the league, totalling 176 minutes across all competitions. His sole goal came in that Carabao Cup tie.
This lack of regular football led England manager Thomas Tuchel to leave him out of the squad for the recent international break. "Noni Madueke is reportedly attracting interest from Atletico Madrid and Juventus amid his struggle for minutes this season," said Jack Johnson.
Increased competition within Mikel Arteta's squad is a key factor. The summer departures of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli were offset by the signing of Christos Tzolis and the emergence of young talent Max Dowman. Tzolis has since picked up a hamstring injury on international duty, but Dowman's form has intensified the battle for wide positions.
Arsenal's focus remains on their strong league campaign, where they sit second with 12 points from five games. Their next challenge is a home fixture against fifth-placed Leeds United this Saturday. The full schedule is available on our fixtures list. Madueke's future will be a subplot as the club prepares for that match.
