Arsenal have signed Selina Cerci, a prolific forward from Hoffenheim, to bolster their Women's Super League squad.

What happened?

The 26-year-old Germany forward joins Arsenal on a free transfer, having scored 34 goals in 47 appearances for Hoffenheim in two seasons.

Renée Slegers, the Arsenal head coach, said Selina Cerci is a “great addition” to the squad.

Why it matters for Arsenal

Cerci's impressive goalscoring record and strong work ethic make her a valuable signing for Arsenal, who are currently leading the Premier League with 85 points, 7 points clear of Manchester City, and have a recent form of 3W-2D-0L, unbeaten in their last 5 games.

The signing of Cerci is the second player Arsenal have signed from the Frauen Bundesliga this summer, following Georgia Stanway from Bayern Munich.

What comes next?

Cerci will compete against and play alongside top players in one of the best leagues in the world, and Arsenal's director of football, Clare Wheatley, believes she is in a strong position to transition to English football.

As of 07 Jul 2026, Arsenal are sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League, with a 7-point lead over Manchester City, and their recent form of WWWWW is a sign of their strength, and with the signing of Cerci, they will look to continue their winning streak, having drawn their last result 1-1 against Paris Saint Germain on 2026-05-30.
